I play a kenku rogue – and wanted a set of dice that captured the feel of this stealthy ranged attacker… these were the perfect choice. They do not scream their numbers like other dice do… seems like more and more we’re seeing elaborate and intricately faced dice on the market; at my last session somebody had to pick up their die on each check and squint to see what they had rolled. Does black-on-grey work like that? In dim enough light I suppose that’s possible – but for me the shiny mercury-like (face) versus the dark coal-colored matte (numbering) is what makes the numbers pop just fine. They thunk on the table with a satisfying sound and feel – and command attention. They are an exercise in subtlety and I could not feel like my character could be better represented than with these beauties.
